Martina Tessaro

Founder of the Dance School

Martina Tessaro is from Italy, she started dancing since very little, being her great passion. Her first steps in the world of dance were in Classical ballet, modern and jazz.
After finishing her studies in languages, she began to work in different parts of the world as a dancer and choreographer, performing in very important shows of varied styles.
In 2006 she became Artistic Director of a Dance Company in Egypt preparing different types of shows including different styles of dance, a very important moment in her career where she grew up as artistic director, choreographer and dancer. At this time she began to train in other styles such as Latin and ballroom dance.
In 2009 she decided to move to London where she was admitted to a Dance Degree at Thames Valley University. After finishing her degree, Martina went to America where she worked as a dancer and dance teacher in Los Angeles and San Diego.
Years later, with more experience and professional knowledge, in 2012 Martina arrived in Spain and created her Dance School (Martina Tessaro Dance School) where she teaches Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, Latin Jazz, Salsa and Bachata. During these years in Spain Martina has participated as a dancer with her dance partner Carlos Ruiz in different Latin dance competitions obtaining optimal results (2 times runners-up in Spain of Bachata and finalists in international competitions), in addition to having prepared students part of “MT Professional Dance Company”, which have obtained excellent results worldwide.
Since 2017 Martina is an official teacher and authorized to take official exams in different dance styles of ATOD (Australian teachers of dance), currently the only one in Spain.
In 2019 she graduated in Module 1 of Acrobatics Arts in England and has completed the “Perfect form physiotherapy Dance Teacher-Level 1”.

"In my opinion it is fundamental not to stay stuck and continue studying because dance is in continuous evolution and this evolution is essential to be reflected in my students”

Carlos Ruiz

From little he has been passionated about sport and martial arts but it was not until 15 years old that he began his career in the Karate Kyokushin.
His evolution went very fast and the results were not long in coming, he trained 6 hours a day from Monday to Saturday and in competition time up to 8 hours. He holds several national and international titles in professional competitions of this discipline in the Kumite modality, he also holds the titles of best technician.
Currently and after 27 years dedicated body and soul in Karate Kyokushin, he attended his exam for black belt 5th Dan getting to overcome this tough and rigorous test composed of thirty hours of work.
He has been completing his professional training as a teacher of academic activities in anatomy, chiromassage, fitness and personal training obtaining degrees in all his studies.
Carlos Ruiz is also a great professional dancer who started at 17 years old with classical ballet which he had to leave aside for his great involvement in Martial Arts.
But it was in 2007 that he resumed the dance, this time it was done in Latin dance where he also started to compete, winning several competitions of Salsa and Bachata dance and getting two consecutive titles of Runner-up of Spain.
The importance of Martial Arts and Dance form a perfect complement. A dancer who does Martial Arts or a Martial Artist who does Dance will become much more complete, says Carlos Ruiz.
